As the Honorary Consul for Sierra Leone, over the weekend I participated in a wonderful celebration of Sierra Leone’s National Day here in Ottawa. Some of the guests came from as far away as Toronto to take part in the festivities. The event also gave me the opportunity to chat with some old friends, Monty Domingo and Fred Sherman. There were speeches, a delightful dinner with West African cuisine as well as dancing and video entertainment. Many thanks to Odofie Williams and the Sierra Leone Community Association for organizing a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Happy 62nd birthday Mama Salone!
